North Edgebrook Civic Association

Greetings North Edgebrook! Winter is approaching, and we are collecting dues to fund neighborhood snowplowing. In North Edgebrook, there is curb-to-curb plowing service, but we have to plow around parked cars! Please remember when we are expecting snow to pull your cars in to the driveway so we can clean both sides of the street. This small effort is greatly appreciated by many neighbors.

To check if you paid your dues, visit our new membership database.

Our snowplowing contract covers all snowfalls in December, January, and February. Include your e-mail on the contact card and we will keep you updated on our snowplow schedule. We will also update our Snowplowing Updates group on Nextdoor Edgebrook.

This year, we are asking for your help more than ever. We have lost several people from our Board of Directors in the last year. While we thank all of our board members, past and present, we are missing their energy and efforts. We need to recruit some new board members if we want to continue having an association looking out for our neighborhood. So we have two messages for the community this year.

First, to our new friends and neighbors, welcome to the neighborhood! Our association is one of the things that makes this community special, and we have been looking out for the neighborhood for 77 years! Snow plowing has been a large part of our services, but we are also ready to address issues that come up. This gives our community an organized voice ready to speak when necessary. We work directly with the Alderman's office, the Wildwood School principal, the Wildwood Park supervisor, and other community leaders to coordinate our efforts. Please reach out to your neighbors who have lived here their whole lives and ask them about us. Chances are, you'll talk to some former board members who can tell you first-hand of their experiences. Please consider volunteering some time to join our board and help keep our community strong! Please contact any officer if you are interested in helping.

Second, to our old friends who have lived in this neighborhood and been a part of our board in the past, thank you! While we would certainly welcome anyone back to the board, we recognize that you have already served the community and would really like to get some of our new neighbors involved. Please reach out to the new people on your block. Tell them about your involvement with NECA and explain to them how much our organization benefits our community. Encourage them to join the board to keep this great tradition going in our neighborhood. As former board members, you can recognize how important it is to bring new ideas and energy into the group. Please help us meet this goal so NECA can continue fighting for all of us.

Thank you to everyone in our neighborhood who supports our association!

We will continue to post updated information on our website for these and other items, so check back regularly for more details about NECA events.
